The Aureus Trio is a versatile ensemble based in Basel, Switzerland. We are passionate about exploring the clarinet-cello-piano trio repertoire and performing it with enthusiasm. Our mission is to create a profound musical and human connection with our audiences by reflecting our shared aesthetic values in our performances. Our goal is to examine the intricate layers of music and how they interact with one another in a manner that is both respectful of the composers and engaging to the audience. We strive to bring our own unique perspective and style to classical music. Our mission is to make chamber music accessible and enjoyable to all, while also exploring and promoting music from Swiss composers.
Katarina Leskovar is an internationally acclaimed soloist, chamber and orchestra musician, and the recipient of several international prizes. She has performed at renowned music festivals and venues, including The Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Musikverein Vienna, and Cité Internationale des Arts Paris. Katarina is dedicated to exploring the connections between old and new music and has premiered works by contemporary composers such as Beat Furrer and Uroš Rojko. She has also undertaken an internship with Basel Sinfonietta and been a member of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester. Katarina has studied at prestigious music institutions, including the Berlin University of the Arts and Hochschule für Musik Basel.
Eylam Keshet is an Israeli pianist based in Basel, Switzerland. He has performed with several orchestras, including the Kammerorchester Basel, Haifa Symphony Orchestra, Rishon LeZion Symphony Orchestra, and Ashdod Symphony Orchestra, and has participated in several international piano competitions, winning first prizes at national competitions in Israel. Eylam is particularly passionate about chamber music and has collaborated with a variety of musicians. He has performed at numerous festivals worldwide, including Ravinia Festival, Pau Casals International Music Festival, and Chetham's International Summer Festival. Eylam's debut CD, which features Domenico Scarlatti's sonatas, was released by Naxos in 2019. He has studied piano at Tel Aviv University, Yale School of Music, and Basel Music Academy.
Jonathan Leibovitz is an award-winning clarinetist, having won top prizes at major competitions in Israel and Europe, including the Crusell Competition in Finland. He was a prize-winner at the 2022 YCAT and CAG International Auditions and received the Arthur Waser Foundation and Lucerne Symphony Orchestra Award, endowed with 25,000 Swiss francs. Jonathan has appeared as a soloist with renowned orchestras including the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra, Israel Philharmonic, London Mozart Players, Slovak State Philharmonic Košice, Jyväskylä Sinfonia, and Israel Sinfonietta, and he has given recitals in Germany, Switzerland, and Finland. He has also been praised for his work as a chamber musician and has recorded and performed with the Südwestrundfunk in Bruchsaal. Jonathan has completed his Masters at the Music Academy in Basel with François Benda.
